Kira Ellis, a Filipina triathlete, dominates the Junior Women’s sprint event with a time of 1:05:07 and helps Team Philippines secure victory in the mixed relay alongside Matthew Justine Hermosa, Samantha Corpuz, and Dayshaun Ramos.
At just 18 years old, Ellis is emerging as a key figure in Philippine triathlon, drawing attention for her potential on the international stage—including being considered a strong contender for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Ellis gained international racing experience by competing in the 2024 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary, where she finished 16th out of 30 competitors in the Junior Women category.
Her recent run of success showed improvement following a five-week training camp in Portugal under the guidance of coach Sergio Santos, a development supported by the Philippine Sports Commission.
Ellis’ drive, discipline, and dedication reflect the bright future of Philippine sports, and as she continues to train, compete, and conquer, the nation watches with pride and anticipation.
