Marikina City – Green Party of the Philippines, an emerging green political moverment, launches Vote Green 2025 through its Kapihang Kalikasan Muna: Ipanalo ang Kalikasan at the Edge TV Cafe in Marikina City.

The forum also declares the candidacy of David D’Angelo, GPP Kalikasan Muna for Senator in 2025 as a guest candidate of Bunyog Pagkakaisa Party, a national political party and party list running in the 2025 elections.

“Our objective is to elect green candidates in the 2025 midterm elections. My decision to run is based on this principle, it is the environment that needs to win. So my call is not only to elect me in the senate but also to elect those candidates who are for the protection of nature. We bring nearly 30 years of experience and dedication to this cause. We are tired of waiting for elected officials to do something about this problem so we are offering an option to focus on our life and our future which is the environment,” said David D’Angelo, 2025 senatorial candidate, and President of the Green Party of the Philippines.

Kapihang Kalikasan Muna: Ipanalo Ang Kalikasan is a forum which features speakers and personalities sharing the status of the Philippine environment, and why it is necessary to protect, and defend nature specially to elect green leaders in the upcoming midterm elections.

Organization and individuals present at the forum also signed a document declaring CLIMATE EMERGENCY. “The rapid acceleration of climate change, extreme weather events, and biodiversity loss demands immediate, decisive action. We commit to driving change by advocating for policies prioritizing a low-carbon, sustainable future, including renewable energy, sustainable land use, circular economy, and climate-resilient, infrastructure,” says Nic Satur Jr., GPP Luzon Convenor and Advocacy Officer of Partners for Affordable and Reliable Energy (P.A.R.E.). “This declaration marks the beginning of our commitment to ongoing assessment and improvement,” he added.

Meanwhile, Jeph Ramos, National Secretary of GPP bares the initial list of Green Candidates which will be part of Ipanalo Ang Kalikasan among them are: David D’Angelo, Leody De Guzman, Atty. Luke Espiritu, and Toto Causing for Senators; 5 Party Lists groups were included including their main coalition party Bunyog Party plus Bayaning Tsuper Party List, Mamayang Liberal, MedCann Party List, and Pamilyang Magsasaka Party List.

Included in the Ipanalo Ang Kalikasan (Green Candidates List) were also local candidates like Mayor Son Legacion of Naga City, and Mayor Vince Soriano who will be running for Congress of the 3rd District, Caloocan City.

Col Rodrigo Bonifacio, President and Chairperson Global Responsibility for Environmental and Ecological Nurturing reiterates in urgency to the current climate crisis. As a very active environmental advocate, he shares on the topic “The Intersection of Politics and the part of the How Congress Can Lead The Fight Against Climate Change.”

Nature First: Promoting Nature aims to bring various organizations, political personalities, and individuals together for nature, and a better and greener future. Among the personalities present were: Comrade Leody De Guzman, President of the People’s Liberation Party (PLM) / 2025 Senatorial Candidate; Teddy Baguilat Jr., Founder of Nature Philippines/2022 Senatorial Candidate; Carmen Reyes Zubiaga, GPP National Sectoral Convenor on PWD / Former Executive Director at National Council on Disability Affairs / 2022 Senatorial Candidate; Rameses Javier Casten, Working Group of Young Socialists in the Philippines; Prof. Chot Velasquez, President Action Nature / Greens Heritage Institution / Executive Director Imelda S. Elizalde Foundation (ISEFI); Florence Millar, Treasurer Background Environmental Society; Bas “Little Electric” Chairman, Electricity.org National Coordinator and Volunteer Local Autonomous Network (LAN); Randy Mangubat, Founder and President County Urban Farmers Association; Jesse Las Marias, Philippine Coalition for Consumer Welfare Inc.; Joel Singh, Committee of Correspondence / Renewable Alliance; Angel Atienza, Vantage Point Media / Bayaning Tsuper Party List; Ellen Estrada, Artistic Director, Music Theatre; Jennifer Nuya, Project Manager, World Systems Solutions, inc.; Keno Ivan Mathias, Association Theater Guild; and Eric Lucena, Bicol Greens, among others.

Various performances also highlighted the event, since the Green Party of the Philippines also focuses on the usage of arts, and culture for environmental campaigns. Present to perform were Athalia Badere, A+ Blaze, Tunilyo, and the Maestro Theater Ensemble and Playback Troupe.

The event is hosted by Raymond Gonzales of EDGE TV Media, Jeph Ramos of the Green Party, and Nic Satur Jr. of P.A.R.E.
