Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) is reinforcing sustainability as a core business strategy through the launch of its rooftop solar facility at its Bacolod manufacturing plant, in partnership with EEI Power Corporation. The project marks the first operational site in PCPPI’s nationwide renewable energy program.
The Bacolod installation is part of PCPPI’s broader plan to deploy rooftop solar systems across all 11 of its manufacturing plants nationwide. Once fully implemented, the program is expected to deliver a combined 8.34 megawatts of solar capacity, supplying approximately 14 percent of the company’s total power requirements while significantly reducing its overall carbon footprint.
The launch was led by PCPPI President and Chief Executive Officer Phyo Phyu Noe, together with representatives from EEI Power Corporation, headed by Assistant Vice President and Solar Business Unit Head Andrew Zapanta Jr., and officials from the Bacolod City local government.
“For years, we talked about renewable energy and sustainability. We talked about the future we owe our communities. But talking is easy. Execution is harder. This year, we moved from intention to action,” said Phyo, underscoring PCPPI’s focus on translating sustainability commitments into measurable results.
“Covering 14 percent of our total power requirements across all 11 of our industrial plants is not a slogan. It is real engineering, real investment, and real commitment. Bacolod is the first plant where that commitment becomes operational,” he added.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration in accelerating renewable energy adoption within the industrial sector, Zapanta emphasized the shared responsibility between partners.
“Our collaboration is built on a shared vision: to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and create solutions that are both economically sound and environmentally responsible. This rooftop solar system is a testament to that vision—a tangible example of how partnerships can drive meaningful change.”
With the Bacolod plant’s rooftop solar facility now operational, PCPPI continues to advance its sustainability efforts, reinforcing its commitment to responsible manufacturing, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship across its nationwide operations.
