In celebration of Coffee Chapters’ 3rd Anniversary, theater company Act Avenue proudly presents “PATLANG” an intimate café theater experience that brings together original Filipino plays, live music, dance, poetry, and community performances in one unforgettable evening of storytelling.
Mounted in partnership with Coffee Chapters, PATLANG is one of the highlights of the café’s anniversary celebration, transforming its welcoming space into an intimate venue where stories are shared over coffee and meaningful conversations are brewed. Scheduled on August 22 and August 29, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Coffee Chapters, Libertad, P. Burgos, Pasay City, PATLANG invites audiences to slow down and rediscover the beauty of human connection through an immersive theatrical experience unlike any other.
More than a theatrical production, PATLANG explores the idea of the patlang—the pause between words, the silence between conversations, and the quiet moments where reflection, connection, and understanding begin. Through intimate storytelling shared over coffee, the production encourages audiences to step away from the fast pace of everyday life and embrace the beauty of simply being present.
Under the direction of Alex Baylon, the evening brings together three original Filipino one-act plays, each inviting audiences into compelling stories of love, identity, healing, and what it means to be human.
The Interview Written by Kim Anthony Vergara
A routine premarital church interview becomes an unexpected reunion, forcing two people to face the unresolved chapters of their shared past.
Featuring performances by Shine Villanueva or Lyn Ercilla, alongside Mark Pelicano or Marion Brusoto.
I’m Fine, Darling Written by Alex Baylon
A seemingly ordinary blind date takes an unexpected turn when two former schoolmates are forced to confront a past that neither of them can leave behind.

Stop Over Written by Alex Baylon
During a brief stop on a long journey, two lifelong friends find themselves at a crossroads where old conversations lead to life-changing decisions.
Performed by Abet Abesamis and Ray Raña.
