Los Baños, Laguna—As early as 8AM, the medical mission from Kiwanis Club of McKinley headed by President Rocaya Mangondato conducted the check up for these special kids from 5 year olds to 13. They were given with vitamins and advised the parents on their kids conditions.

Different clubs from Philippine Luzon District, Division 3A that includes Makati, Malate West and Manila Bay attended with the delight of Ernie Flavier, one of the members of Kiwanis Club of Los Baños.

Past President of Kiwanis Club of Malate West conducted a seminar for the parents and discussed about the following;

•How to recognize a child with special needs
•Acceptance
•Dealing with growing children with special needs

Afterwards, Past President Lorna Ballesteros turned over things needed by the organization to its directress that will be used by the children.

Manila Bay President, Ezelle Gascon provided colorful toys for the children while Lieutenant Governor, Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas provided the lunch for everyone. The team were so grateful with Mernels Cake House for providing snacks for all while Past President of Kiwanis Club of Los Baños and now President Elect, Carmen Garan provided the drinks.

The event ended with a question and answer at around 12 noon and answered by Sister Evelina of Malate West.

The Los Baños Community Center, Center for therapy, intervention and support is a private organization but situating in the building from the local government. They received grants from Canada and private institutions. Kiwanis International is a non government organization that’s focuses on the children and aiming to help the indigent kids in one community at a time. According to reports, Kiwanis International in average conducted 150,000 service projects yearly globally.
