In celebration of International Women’s Month, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila launches PowHERful: Women’s Month Celebration for powerful women to enjoy special deals, displays, and inspiring stories at the 2/F The Plaza from March 4 to 12, 2020.
For this year’s campaign everyone’s encouraged to be #EachforEqual and “challenge stereotypes, fight biases, broaden perceptions, improve situations, and celebrate women’s achievements because, collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world.”
Shoes w/ Stories
To honor women’s achievements in their respective fields, Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila opens the Shoes with Stories Exhibit featuring stilettos from PowHERful women, showcasing their success stories and the role of their shoes in their careers.
Twenty different pairs of stilettos of various make and brands with a sticker detailing the success stories and achievement of their owners are on display along with a pop-up of Danish shoe brand United Nude at the RWM’s The Plaza.
On display are beauty queens’ Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s Bragais, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s Chinese Laundry, and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa’s Christian Louboutin.

Up close are actors’ Maricel Soriano’s Balenciaga, Eugene Domingo’s Kate Spade, Dimple Romana’s Aquazurra, Maine Mendoza’s Lauren Conrad, Nadine Lustre’s Manolo Blahnik, Heart Evangelista’s Christian Louboutin, Marian Rivera-Dantes’s Valentino, and Kris Aquino’s Miu Miu.
Likewise are volleyball greats’ Alyssa Valdez’s Valentino and Cherry Rondina’s Miu Miu.
Exhibited, too, are singers’ Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s Gucci and Rachelle Ann Go’s Christian Louboutin.
On show are dancers’ Lisa Macuja Elizalde’s Calvin Klein and Georcell Dapat-Sy’s Christian Louboutin.
Wrapping up the shoe show is PAGCOR Chair and CEO Andrea Domingo’s Ferragamo.
The shoe exhibit, which also features a giant red stiletto for photo ops, opened with some of the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines candidates who were introduced by RWM’s Director for Corporate Communication Joiee Guilas and feted to dinner at Henjie Carmona‘s Rafael’s Tapas Bar and Restaurant amidst art, good food, and media coverage.
The 2020 Miss Universe Philippines candidates present were Albay’s Paula Madarieta Ortega, Angeles City’s Christine Nicole F Silvestre, Baguio City’s Bea Theresa P Maynigo, Bohol’s Pauline C Amelinckx, Cagayan de Oro’s Vincy Vacalares, Catanduanes’ Sigrid Grace Flores, Cavite’s Kimberly “Billie” Hakenson, Cebu City’s Tracy Mauren Perez, Cebu Province’s Apriel Smith, and Iloilo Province’s Kim Chi Crizaldo.
Also present from the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines were La Union’s Trizha Ocampo, Leyte’s Chiara Lyn Markwalder, Makati City’s Ivanna Pacis, Mandaue City’s Lou Dominique Piczon, Manila City’s Alexandra “Alex” Abdon, Misamis Oriental’s Caroline Joy Veronilla, Pampanga’s Patricia Mae P Santos, Paranaque City’s Maria Ysabella Roxas Ysmael, Sorsogon’s Maria Isabela Galeria, and Zamboanga del Sur’s Perlyn Cayona.
